Sit and Stay!

Today’s post is not a typical one. I want to take this opportunity to personally ask each of you to follow the guidelines that have been given to you by your state and local officials. I beseech you to heed their directives and warnings. These instructions are not being given to inconvenience, annoy, or penalizeContinue reading “Sit and Stay!”

Sunrise

Deep breaths. I don’t know about you, but I’ve had to remind myself to do that quite often these last couple of weeks. The information, uncertainties, and stress seem to double by the hour – thus the knots in my shoulders and the migraine I’ve been trying to keep at bay since early this morning.Continue reading “Sunrise”

Flying Back

When I was a little girl I loved to pretend. Like many children, I dreamed of all the things I would like to do and hoped to accomplish someday. Through the years, many of those ideas and plans changed, but the one dream that remained constant was my deep-seeded desire to be a mother. ForContinue reading “Flying Back”

You can’t scream, “I’m pro-life” and vote against baby formula. Well, you can… but that makes you a hypocrite. Which most of us knew already. #thiswasneveraboutbabies
She did it!! This beauty with brains graduated with honors today from Wake Forest with a grace and strength many of us could only hope to have. We are so proud of you, @emma.ornduff and love you very much!
Today we celebrate our oldest son - our favorite Tar Heel, film guide, maker of music, and lover of kindness and justice. He has brought us much joy in these 26 years and I’m sure there will be much more. This next year will bring big changes and opportunities and we are so excited to share them with him. Most of his special day will be spent celebrating his sweet Emma as she graduates from Wake Forest with honors this morning. We love you, Sam, and all that you bring and give to our family. Happy Happy Birthday!!
26 years ago… reading books, timing contractions, waiting on baby Sam. By morning my arms and days would be full with two babies! ❤️
Cheers to Friday Eve! #datenight #killerqueendurham
Awhile back, I was asked by the amazing Bunce sisters to be a guest writer for their site, @thewelcometableco (The Welcome Table). If you have not been to this beautiful, inclusive space, I highly encourage you to do so. The love and inspiration here comes from many voices from a collection of journeys - all with the invitation to come to “the table” and experience love and grace. So very thankful for this opportunity, and for the beauty these amazing ladies have created here. Come sit!
